Rationale
DepEd encourages a system of quality
assurance of service providers through the
continuous certification of ESC participating
schools.
The Certification Program of the PEAC
ensures a school’s compliance with DepEd
minimum standards and its readiness to
participate in the ESC.
Objectives
• The PEAC through the National Secretariat
Certification Unit is tasked to pursue the
following objectives:
1. To assess ESC participating schools’ extent of
compliance with the DepEd minimum standards,
and to classify or reclassify the schools as:
• Approaching Excellence in Practicing the Standard
• Exceeding the Minimum Standard
• Practicing the Minimum Standard
• Approaching the Minimum Standard

to upgrade their quality.

Before the Visit
What to do:
1. Go to the PEAC website and look for the list of schools due
for Recertification Visit for School Year 2018-2019.
2. Submit two (2) sets of the initial documents to the PEAC NS
if your school is due for Recertification Visit.
3. Prepare the documents needed for the visit (please refer to
the CAI where documents needed are listed after every
area). Please ensure that the documents are:
properly labeled
arranged according to area
updated
all placed in the headquarters
IMPORTANT NOTE: WITH OR WITHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS, THE
SCHOOL WILL BE VISITED AS SCHEDULED.

What to do:
4. The headquarters where the certifiers will stay during the
visit:
It should be within or near the Junior High School classrooms
and facilities
There should be privacy
There is a work table
5. Please assign a private room for group interviews.
IMPORTANT NOTE: PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE VISIT, A
PEAC STAFF WILL COORDINATE WITH THE SCHOOL. MAKE
SURE YOUR CONTACT DETAILS ARE UPDATED.

What to do:
1. Secure all documents.
2. Wait for the result of the visit. Re/certification
reports will be released two (2) to three (3)
months after the visit.
3. Study and implement the recommendations
given by the certification team.
IMPORTANT NOTE: THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE A FORMAL TURN-OVER OF ALL
SCHOOL DOCUMENTS IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE LINE-UP OF
ADMINISTRATORS.

Certification Revisit
What to do:
An applicant school that fails the Certification
may reapply in the next school year following
the last certification visit, provided it has
addressed or complied with the
recommendations of the Certification Team.
The school shoulders all the expenses for the
revisit.
An applicant JHS that fails two consecutive
visits may only reapply three school years
after the last certification.
Recertification Revisit
An ESC participating Regular JHS that fails
recertification may apply for a recertification revisit
after the school has complied with the
recommendations of the previous recertification
result. (within one school year)
The ESC participating Regular JHS shall shoulder all
the expenses for the revisit.
In the event an ESC participating Regular JHS fails the
recertification revisit (failed twice), it shall be
terminated from participating in the ESC program
and shall only be allowed to graduate all their
remaining ESC grantees. The school may reapply in
the program as an applicant JHS after all their ESC
grantees have completed Grade 10.
