Students:

Prior Knowledge:
- Students know the types of animals (reptiles – mammals – amphibians – birds – fish)
- Students can name at least 10 animals.
Lesson Objectives:

- At the end of the lesson the student will be able to define herbivores and carnivores.
- At the end of the lesson the students will be able to sort animals into herbivores and
omnivores.

Lesson Activities:
Opening
- First, I will ask the students to the carpet, then I will ask them questions to introduce the
lesson.
 What do you think animals eat?
 Do you think all animals eat meat?
 Do you think all animals eat grass?
- Then I will use pictures and animal names to show them and I will ask them what they think
this animal eats.
- I will introduce the words herbivore and carnivore and teach them the meaning of each word.
- I will ask one student to stand up and repeat what I said to the rest of the class.
Activity
- I will ask the student to cut and sort the animals into the A4 paper.
- First, I will demonstrate how to do the activity for the students.
- I will show them how to cut the paper and where to glue (if it is an herbivore glue it on this
side of the page)
- I will use music when the students start, and the activity stops when the music does.
- will stop the activity and ask the students to come back to the carpet
Closing
- I will choose two students to stand up and show us what they did.
- Then I will review the lesson and ask question to make sure all the students understand

Evaluation / Assessment: How will you know your students have achieved the goal?
I will ask questions and I will observe them while they work in their groups.

Personal focus: Related to PDP


In this lesson I am working on my feedback to the students, I will give out positive feedback
and use positive reinforcement to manage the class.
