Halloween.
3. What do they think people do for Halloween?
4. Do any of the students have any plans for Halloween?
5. Does anyone like scary movies?
6. What are some scary situations you might not want to be in?
Activity:
1. Break the class up into 5 or 6 groups.
2. Hand each group a slip of paper with an individual horror situation written on it.
3. Students must then write at least five sentences suggesting a good way to survive
the situation provided using a different modal for each sentence.
4. Example sentences will be provided on the board as well as a list of modals for
reference.
5. After an allotted amount of time (5-10min) students will then read their answers
to the class. Each student will read aloud at least one of their group answers in
turn so all will get a chance to speak.
Conclusion:
Answers will be written on the board and the entire class will decide which
answers are best. Upon completion of the activity thank class for time and wish
all a happy Halloween. If there is time and students like, can offer a brief lesson
on Halloween History.
