for	educators Isaiah 43:1-2
NIV	-	But	now,	this	is	what	the	Lord	says—	he	who	created	you,	Jacob,	he	who	formed	you,
Israel:	“Do	not	fear,	for	I	have	redeemed	you;	I	have	summoned	you	by	name;	you	are	mine.
When	you	pass	through	the	waters,	I	will	be	with	you;	and	when	you	pass	through	the
rivers,	they	will	not	sweep	over	you.	When	you	walk	through	the	fire,	you	will	not	be
burned;	the	flames	will	not	set	you	ablaze.
RSV	-	But	now	thus	says	the	Lord,	he	who	created	you,	O	Jacob,	he	who	formed	you,	O	Israel:
“Fear	not,	for	I	have	redeemed	you;	I	have	called	you	by	name,	you	are	mine.	When	you	pass
8
                          through	the	waters	I	will	be	with	you;	and	through	the	rivers,	they	shall	not	overwhelm	you;
when	you	walk	through	fire	you	shall	not	be	burned,	and	the	flame	shall	not	consume	you.

KJV	-	But	now	thus	saith	the	Lord	that	created	thee,	O	Jacob,	and	he	that	formed	thee,	O
Israel,	Fear	not:	for	I	have	redeemed	thee,	I	have	called	thee	by	thy	name;	thou	art	mine.

When	thou	passest	through	the	waters,	I	will	be	with	thee;	and	through	the	rivers,	they	shall
not	overflow	thee:	when	thou	walkest	through	the	fire,	thou	shalt	not	be	burned;	neither	shall
                          the	flame	kindle	upon	thee.

LB	- But	now	the	Lord	who	created	you,	O	Israel,	says:	Don’t	be	afraid,	for	I	have	ransomed
you;	I	have	called	you	by	name;	you	are	mine.	When	you	go	through	deep	waters	and	great
trouble,	I	will	be	with	you.	When	you	go	through	rivers	of	difficulty,	you	will	not	drown!	When

you	walk	through	the	fire	of	oppression,	you	will	not	be	burned	up—the	flames	will	not
                          consume	you.
