Task 2 – TDT1
The graphics in Task 2 were selected to be a reflection of my craft as an educator. The
development of this website will be utilized as an online portfolio, where it will serve as a
platform to display my teaching style and ideologies. I selected images that showcased the use
of technology in the classroom, the use of anchor charts to support student learning and graphics
that promoted 21st Century learning. The targeted audience for the collection of graphics created
would be future employers. The graphics would provide future employers the opportunity to
have a visual of my classroom management, strategies and philosophies that a paper resume
would not be able to fully reveal.
                                     Graphic Process
   1. Original – The original photo selected was taken in my classroom with an iPhone. The
photo shows students working collaboratively in math work stations using iPads to scan
QR codes in small-groups. I then uploaded the photo to my laptop, where I then was able
to use different programs and tools to edit the photos.
   2. Original_Resized – For this photograph I used a website called BeFunky.com. It is a
free program where you are able to upload and resize your images quickly and easily.
Through the image manager I was able to upload the original photo and set it as the
background. There is a toolbox to the left where I then clicked edit and selected resize.
From there you are able to type in the width and height desired. You are then able to
save a copy of your edited original right from the website to your computer. I then
   uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
3. Original_Adapted – For the adapted photograph, I was able to edit the color right in the
photos application on my Mac. There were many editing options, especially when
selecting different colors. You can also opt for different filters, which is what I chose to
do with this graphic. I decided to go with a dramatic effect. Something as simple as
putting a filter on a graphic or manipulating the colors can be extremely effective when
trying to grab the attention of your audience. I then saved a copy to my computer and
   uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
4. Original_Cropped – For the cropped graphic, I was also able to use the photos
application on my Mac. I used the cropping tool where I was able to adjust the edges of
the photo until the desired parts were showing. I cropped the photo so it was a close-up
of two students working together to scan the QR codes in their math work station. I then
saved a copy to my computer and uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
5. Scanned Image – For the scanned image, I used an iPhone app called CamScanner. It is
a free app and extremely simple to use. I had a large anchor chart in my classroom that I
wanted to display on my online portfolio. With CamScanner, you essentially take a
photo of the document you want scanned. I lined the edges of the page with the camera
frame on my phone. Once you capture the picture, CamScanner will then automatically
scan and enhance the photo. You are able to crop any unwanted background. When I
was satisfied with my results I clicked the checkmark to then save as a document. I then
saved the photo into my iPhone’s photo album. I was then easily able to upload the
document to my computer! I then saved a copy to my computer and uploaded the graphic
   to Weebly.
6. Scanned_Resized – Just as I did with the original picture when I resized the image, I
used the website BeFunky.com. Through the image manager I was able to upload the
scanned graphic and set it as the background. Then using the toolbox to the left, I clicked
edit and selected resize. From there you are able to type in the width and height desired.
You are then able to save a copy of your edited scanned graphic right from the website to
your computer. I then uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
7. Paint Original – For this graphic, I used the Paint S application on my Mac. I used the
line tool to first create my pencil graphic. Once I had the shape created I used the paint
can tool to fill in the colors to make it look like a typical pencil! I used the spray paint
tool to give the appearance of lead on the tip of the pencil. Once satisfied with the shape
and color I added a text box and wrote “Technology Fun with Ms. Jansky!”. I created
this graphic to be decorative for my online portfolio. I then saved a copy to my computer
and uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
8. Paint_Adapted - Just as I did with the original picture and the scanned graphic, I used
the website BeFunky.com to resize the paint graphic. Through the image manager I was
able to upload the scanned graphic and set it as the background. Then using the toolbox
to the left, I clicked edit and selected resize. From there you are able to type in the width
and height desired. You are then able to save a copy of your edited scanned graphic right
from the website to your computer. I then uploaded the graphic to Weebly.
9. Outside Source – The final image I selected was found on
   https://airwolf3d.com/education/engineering-design-process-in-action/. I selected this
graphic, because it directly correlates to my teaching style and philosophy. I right clicked
on the image when visiting the website and saved it to my computer. I was then easily
able to upload the picture to Weebly.
