Teenage pregnancy is increasing in the Philippines contrary to the national hero's vision of youth being the hope of the nation. Many teenagers now come from broken homes as parents leave due to inability to fulfill their obligations. The government is trying to address this problem and the country's increasing population through the Reproductive Health Bill, which aims to reduce teenage pregnancy through education and family planning support. Teenage pregnancy is associated with poor education and nutrition outcomes, especially for those in deprived neighborhoods, and the children of teenage mothers also face increased risks of poverty and poor living conditions. A multifaceted approach is needed to address the complex social factors contributing to rising teenage pregnancy rates.
