The List Demonstration

The number 1 is represented by a building. Picture a tall straight skyscraper. It


looks like the number one.

The number 2 is represented by a pair of jeans. A “pair” of jeans has 2 legs.

The number 3 is represented by a stool because it has 3 legs.

The number 4 is represented by a door because it rhymes (four-door).

The number 5 is represented by a glove because it has 5 fingers.

The number 6 is represented by a box because it has 6 sides.

The number 7 is represented by money. Think of seven being lucky and for being
lucky you receive money.

The number 8 is represented by a gate because it rhymes (eight-gate).

The number 9 is represented by a cat because it has 9 lives.

The number 10 is represented by a picture of toes. Because there are ten toes.

The number 11 is represented by a football goal post. It looks like the number
eleven without the cross bar.

The number 12 is represented by a sandwich. The reason for this is because 12:00
is usually associated with lunch time so a sandwich is used.

The number 13 is represented by a cast on a broken arm. The reason for this is
because the number thirteen is usually considered unlucky. A broken arm will fit
this.

The number 14 is represented by a diploma. A person usually graduates from


grade school at age fourteen.

The number 15 is represented by a tennis racket or net. The reason for this is
because in tennis you can have a score of 15 - love.

The number 16 is represented by a car. At the age of 16 is when a person can
obtain a drivers license.

The number 17 is represented by a magazine. There is a magazine that is titled


seventeen.

The number 18 is represented by a soldier because at the age of eighteen is when


a person becomes eligible to enlist in the armed forces.

The number 19 is represented by a cowboy and a lasso. This is a picture in which


the number 1 is a cowboy and the 9 looks like a lasso that he is twirling.

The number 20 is represented by a pack of cigarettes. The reason for this is


because they come twenty to a pack.

The number 21 is represented by a wedding. The average age of a person getting


married is approximately twenty one.

The number 22 is represented by a pair of nuns. This is a picture type association.


The number 2 is pictured as a nun on her knees praying. Since there are two 2's in
the number then it is a pair of nuns.

The number 23 is represented by a nun and a frog. This is also a picture


association. We already learned that the 2 can be a nun and now the 3 is a frog.
Picture the top half of the 3 is the frogs body and the second half can be the frogs
legs.

The number 24 is represented by a Christmas tree. The 24th of December being


Christmas eve.

The number 25 is represented by the sky. I visualize the number 2 in the sky and a
bolt of lightning flashes in the shape of a 5.
