• Considered the masterpiece of architect Francisco Eduardo
Tresguerras from Celaya, who rebuilt the original chapel from 1802 to
1807. This church is a representation of great architectural purity,
showing the neoclassical style of great simplicity, elegance and
harmony, both in its exterior and in its exterior. inside.
• In the interior its independent altars are appreciated and in both sides
of the presbytery the monuments of Fray Antonio de San Fermín are
seen.
• Its main religious celebrations take place in: January the children's

• La Casa del Diezmo is one of the most important and beautiful civil
architecture works in the city.
• This historic property boasts an architecture of the late seventeenth
century, baroque style. It was built by the soldier who came with
Hernán Cortes, Hernán Pérez Bocanegra, who was also a notary at the
end of the conquest.In 1543 it becomes the first encomendero of the
region and builds a barn house in what was the Natahí, living in
Celaya before its official foundation.
• The family bought the title of marques in the year 1616 and decided to
remodel the house to make it more comfortable. There, the collection
of the Tithe was paid to the Church.

• Originally it was a pantheon of the city, later it was first converted into
a plaza of tianguis and then into a market.

In the Temple of San Francisco, in the city of Celaya, highlights the purity
and elegance of the altars and the spectacular portico of access to the
temple; its proportionate neoclassical forms date from 1818 and 1820 and
are contributions of the brilliant celayense architect, Francisco Eduardo
Tresguerras. This temple was rebuilt between 1683 and 1715.
• On its façade there is a plaque in bronze with the following description:
"On October 12, 1570, the foundation of" La villa de nuestra señora de la
concepcion de Zalaya "was authorized.
