Operating / Driving Rules
All Drivers must Possess a Valid UAE Drivers License
for class of vehicle to be operated.
All Operators must also have 3rd party training
certificates.
All Operators should be both Physically & Mentally Fit.
Must undergo Zublin Project HSE Induction.
Must not drive or operate plant/ equipment under the
influence of DRUGS or ALCOHOL.
All passengers must wear a seat belt.

PROJECT DRIVING RULES
All vehicles must have headlights on.
All Drivers / Operators must wear seat
belts
All Vehicles must stick to posted speed
limits.
No use of mobile phones whilst driving.
No Overtaking
All Drivers / Operators must wear full PPE
when outside of vehicles.
Whilst driving always maintain a Safe
distance from vehicle ahead (3 Second
Rule)

IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN
Put Hazard Warning Lights on
Leave cab with PPE on
Place a Hazard Warning
Triangle 100 m behind vehicle in
the direction of oncoming traffic.
Notify supervisor in case of
breakdown.
Stay with Vehicle but not inside
– keep out of harm
Try to ensure your vehicle does
not pose a hazard to other road
users.

IN THE CASE OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT
DO THE FOLLOWING:
Switch off the engine and restrict the vehicle
movement.
Switch on hazard lights.
Place a Hazard Warning Triangle 100 m
behind vehicle in the direction of oncoming
traffic
Report incident to HSS team
Call medical team if required.
Stay with vehicle but do not sit in vehicle or
stand in road
Await HSS / Security arrival for assistance

ADVERSE WEATHER
Reduce speed while driving at
night.
Slow down slowly and drive at
speed that suits the conditions.
Make sure your dipped head
lights are turned on and working.
Be patient. Avoid passing,
changing lanes and crossing
traffic. For low visibility
In Fog, only use your low beam
headlights. High beam reflects off
the fog making it harder to see.
If you have fog lights, use them in
addition to your dipped head
lights.

SEAT BELT FACTS
It is mandatory for the drivers and ALL
Passengers to wear seat belt.
A seatbelt only works when you wear
it properly.
Airbags cannot offer the protection of
seatbelt.
Airbags are part of supplementary
Restraint system (SRS) which will
function best
If your seat belt is fastened.

Operator / Drivers Responsibility
Before the start of each shift, the operator
should use a check list and do the
following:
Approach equipment, walk fully around
it and look for hazards
Check lights, tires, suspension and
steering system, fluid levels, exterior
hoses and filters. Look for unguarded
moving parts or other unsafe
conditions.
Inside the cab, remove trash, make
sure windows are clean, adjust mirrors,
check fire extinguisher, turn on all
exterior lights, make sure seatbelt is
ready to use.
Start engine; check gauges and
warning lights; check engine sounds.

All Drivers /Operators of a vehicles / plant must:
• Recognise authority of Banksman / follow all commands
• Assess the task with the Banks Man prior to the start
• Understand & agree signals to be given by the Banks Man
• Ensure that they only operate with a Banks Man where
required
• Ensure Banks Man is standing in a point of safety

Other Safety Measures
• Never jump onto or off the equipment
(having both feet and one hand, or one
foot and both hands in contact with the
ladder access all the time)
• Never operate any of the controls from
any position except the operator’s seat
• Never permit anyone to ride on the
equipment
• Never refuel when the engine is
running
• DO NOT SMOKE when driving on site

Other Safety measures
When equipment is left unattended
make sure that:
– All elevated work surfaces such as
buckets and lifts are lowered
– All moving parts are disengaged and
their motion has stopped
– Transmission is in appropriate parking
position
– Engine is off, and vehicle is secure
– Equipment is secure against
movement
