Objectives
 At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:

1. recognize the nature and uses of the concept paper;
2. enumerate the components of the concept paper;
3. Write a concept paper that would alleviate the effect of Filipino diaspora
phenomenon;
4. Harness their creativity in conceptualizing projects and program;
5. Sustain interest in writing.
GROUP ACTIVITY
 Form a group and deliberate to conceptualize a unique product or service

saleable to target clients with your colleagues.
 EXAMPLE: a cellphone and multi-media projector in one

 Conceptualizing a product or invention is not as difficult
as selling it or proposing it to a potential buyer.
 The maker has to capture the interest of the funding
agency and demonstrate that the idea being proposed
is worthy of further consideration.
 And since funding organizations decide where to
allocate funds for a project or simply deny the project,
concept paper, prospectus, preliminary proposal or pre
proposal is a document written to convince potential
funders to sponsor a product, program or services. It
contains detailed information about how long a project
may take, how much money it may cost and how its
completion may benefit all parties.
USES OF CONCEPT PAPER
1.To interest potential funders

2.To develop potential solutions or
investigations into project ideas
3.To determine whether a project is
fundable
4.To serve as the foundation of a full
proposal.

INTRODUCTION
This part highlights the applicant’s mission and

vision and how it aligns with the funder’s or the
sponsor’s. Further, this explains why the sponsor
should accept and fund the project in the given
general area.
This may also introduce the applicant’s partners
in accomplishing the proposed project or
program.
PURPOSE/RATIONALE
Like Review of Related Literature in research, the

rationale of the concept paper provides written
studies about the topic, the gap in knowledge
to be filled, and problems to be addressed in
the realization of the project.
This may also be merged with the introduction
as it would also highlight the significance of the
project and why it has to be supported.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
 This section includes goals, objective and overview of

the methodology of the project which should be based
on empirical evidence, reasonable cost and complexity
and time-boundedness. More so, this part of the paper
stresses out a plan to do, approach to be utilized and
benefits and potential impacts to achieve.
 Through the description of the project it must come to
the surface that the project is unique, unusual,
innovative and has a novel approach in dealing or
solving the problem at hand.
SUPPORT OR BUDGET
Although this section is left out in some

cases, this provides an outline of either the
main budget categories for the support of
the proposed project or the bottom line
amount which ahs the explanation on
how the budget will be spent or
allocated.
CONTACT INFORMATION
This section provides the contact

information of the applicant or his
organization’s authorized personnel
to make a funding request should the
funder or sponsor agree with the
proposed project.

1. Watch existing game show on television get an idea or concept.
2. Identify the genre.
A. Educational- game element has been employed as a way of making the information
fun of learning.
B. Children’s- any form intended for children 16 years old below.
C. Family game show – general knowledge is not a primary requirement rather created
for fun, tactics and luck.
D. Dating show-centers on aspects of a personal relationship like matchmaking with
young contestants.
E. Lifestyle- this may highlight the contestants’ hobby or interest like cooking,
gardening, flower arranging, home designing, etc. which is on the onset a friendly
game.
F. Puzzle- no general knowledge is required but the contestants’ lateral thinking,
numeral ability and even vocabulary skills.
G. Technological- competition that gauges knowledge about machines and gadgets.
H. Reality- some individuals challenged to work together as a team tog et the price.
I. Variety- this is very common nowadays because most of the game shows are
designed to scout new talent or outstanding performances.
 Decide on the show’s pacing, timeslot, audience, scoring, prizes, hosts and
contestants’ qualifications.
 Describe the mechanics are novel and not copied from any old or existing
show.
 Test the mechanics and refine it more.
