Know Thyself - World of Emotions: Madhavi Gadkari Student Counselor, NIFT 9422009853

This document discusses emotions and the world of feelings. It makes three key points: 1) Emotions have physiological, psychological, and behavioral components and are experienced at both mental and physical levels simultaneously. They can be primary emotions like joy and anger, or secondary emotions which are mixes of primary emotions. 2) Emotions develop throughout childhood as people learn emotional responses from caregivers and experiences with rewards and punishments shape emotional algorithms. Early childhood experiences have long-lasting impacts on adult relationships and behavior in stress. 3) Understanding one's own thinking self and feeling self is important because emotional biases, preferences and stress responses can unconsciously influence one's relationships and style of thinking without full awareness. Self-knowledge
