POSITION ROLE
◦Academic leaders who have academic, programmatic, managerial, and fiscal responsibilities for
a school.

◦ Monitor academic integrity

◦ Responsible for student recruitment and admission

◦Ensures academic progress

◦Establish and maintain a culture of compliance and integrity among faculty, staff, and students
POSITION ROLE
 Provides direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure that the school administers
sponsored research and related activities in accordance with applicable federal regulations
and university and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

 Provides direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure that all key personnel complete
and comply with required education and meet annual training requirements in accordance
with federal regulations and university and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

 Supports and endorses cooperation with university compliance and monitoring efforts related
to sponsored program administration and reports instances of noncompliance to the
appropriate compliance office.

 Negotiates university support and allocates school resources based on research needs and
academic program priorities.

◦ Space Management

 Provides direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure that equipment is managed in
accordance with applicable federal regulations and university and sponsoring agency policies
and procedures.

 Allocates space to departments, divisions, and centers within the school based on research
needs and academic program priorities.

 Provides direction and resources to assure that space is managed in accordance with Federal
regulations and university and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.

◦ Reporting

 Provides direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure the timely submission of
technical, progress, and compliance reporting requirements in accordance with Commission
on Higer Education.

◦ Project Closeout

 Identifies and/or approves funds to cover cost overruns not identified at the departmental
level.

 Provides direction, resources, and oversight to help ensure the timely submission of accurate
and timely closeout documents to applicable agencies, university entities, and the sponsoring
agency in accordance with CHED regulations and

QUALIFICATIONS
CMO-15-S-2017
◦ The College shall be administered by a full-time dean with the following qualifications:
a. Filipino Citizen
b. Registered Nurse in the Philippines with current and valid PRC ID
c. Holder of a Master’s Degree in Nursing conferred by a college or university duly recognized by the
Commission on Higer Education
d. Has at least three (3) years* experience of Clinical practice, and a total of at least five (5) years experience
in teaching, administration, and supervision in the nursing administration
e. Physically and mentally fit
f. Has good moral character
g. Has no other teaching assignments, and has no other assignments or administrative functions in other
public/ private institution or higher education institutions
h. Has a duly notarized employment contract as a dean of the nursing program of at least one (1) academic
year with corresponding academic rank renewable annually
i. An active member of good standing of the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing
(ADPCN)
j. Member of good standing of accredited professional nursing organization
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Administration
1. Ensures compliance to CHED policies, guidelines, standard, and other relevant regulations
2. Prepares short term and long term plans
3. Manages department/ college office operations
4. Obtains recognition/ accreditation of the nursing program
5. Pursues personal and professional development

B. Curriculum and Instruction


6. Initiates curriculum development programs
7. Leads development and utilization of instructional standards in curriculum implamentation
8. Monitors and evaluates the implementation of the programs

C. Faculty
9. Plans a rational faculty
10. Leads in the staff and faculty programs

D. Resource Management
1. Manages human, financial and physical resources
2. Collaborates with the health services, affiliation services, affiliation agencies, and other academic units in
the implementation of instructional programs

1. Forges relevant linkages with local and international agencies, HEIs and agencies

Teaching units- the Dean should have a teaching load of not exceeding 6 units in a semester
