REVIEW OF RELATED
LITERATURECHAPTER II
21st Century Education and Communication
Skills
• Communication skills are fundamental in 21st-century learning, promoting interaction, trust, idea
exchange, planning, and problem-solving.
• The 21st century education system is academic, requiring teachers to adapt to classroom teaching
practices.
• Four core skills are essential for students to prepare for the digital era: critical thinking, collaboration,
creativity, and communication. These skills are needed at all education levels, from elementary to
university level.
English Language Proficiency Of Senior High School Students
• Manuel (2022) and Rao (2016) highlight the importance of English proficiency in senior high school
students.
• Proficiency is a continuum, with James (1985) stating that proficiency is a scale of related skills in language,
gradually changing at each level.
• Fluency is achieved through dialogue with fluent speakers, while proficiency involves understanding and
communicating precisely in the language.
• Overall, fluency and proficiency are essential for informed citizenship and the overall development of
English language proficiency.
Effective communication
Effective communication is crucial in education, as it fosters healthy interpersonal relationships and
promotes open-mindedness, respect, and self-control. Tyler (2016) emphasizes the importance of
effective communication in promoting motivation and building staff culture.
• Trust, transparency, and listening are essential components of healthy interpersonal exchange,
which can be established and practiced by instructors and administrators, who have the power to
enact positive changes among the youth.
• School culture influences how organizations respond to change, and leaders who ignore staff
feelings of apprehension may spend more time dealing with undesired behaviors.
• Teachers, as managers of the instructional process, must possess excellent communication skills to
engage in challenging conversations with students.

CONCLUSION
CHAPTER V
Impact of English Language on SHS Students' Communication
Skills
• The study found a high positive impact of English language on student communication skills.
• Data from respondents confirmed the positive outcomes of English language use in developing communication skills.
• However, some respondents expressed a lack of English language use, specifically affecting their speaking skills.
• The effectiveness of these techniques may vary based on individual interests and personal experiences.
• The study suggests that modifications and additions can be made to improve students' communication skills.
• The research supports the saying "practice makes perfect" in improving students' communication skills.
