PROPOSED PROJECT:
The Wellness Centre cum Adventure sports centre is proposed at Nadaun town, District-Hamirpur is proposed under Sustainable and
Inclusive Tourism Development Project in Himachal Pradesh.
AIM:
In order to boost tourism and develop Nadaun as tourist hub for domestic as well as foreign tourists, a Wellness Centre cum
Adventure Sports centre and Hostel is needed in the area.
NEED/VALIDITY:
Spas, wellness centres and Yoga retreats bode well with scenic and calmative settings of Himachal Pradesh.
In this backdrop, Health & Wellness has been identified as one of the potential sectors for the growth of sustainable tourism in the
state of HP.
In order to boost tourism and develop Nadaun as tourist hub for domestic as well as foreign tourists, a Wellness Centre cum
Adventure Sports centre and Hostel is needed in the area.
OBJECTIVE:
Tourism sites and facilities conserved and improved with integrated adaptation measures.
Green, climate-resilient, and sustainable tourism facilities developed.
Institutional capacity, community engagement, and private sector participation across the tourism value chain enhanced.

SCOPE:
The Wellness Centre cum Adventure sports centre includes a double storey Wellness Block, 9 cottages (6 Type 1 and 3 Type 2),
Utility Building and Security Guard room. The total Built up area of the Wellness Block is 6055.82 sqm.
Next to the Wellness block, a Water Park is proposed which includes wave pool and slides, parking of 100 cars, ticket counter and
entrance gate, changing room, lockers and wash rooms for men and women, a cafeteria for 50 persons and gazebos.
Slides and activities proposed in the Water Park includes Rain Dance, Lazy River- Relaxing water channels where guests can float
along on inner tubes, Interactive Play structure - Fun and engaging activity including splash pads, water slides, climbing structures,
water cannons, tipping buckets, water wheels, Kids activity pool/ mini slides - Kids pools, slides, water toys, water tubes, Aqua
Space slide, Body stand slide, Mat rack, and Wave Pool and Performance Stage.

LOCATION:
• Nadaun is located at 31.78°N 76.35°E.
• It is situated on the banks of the Beas river.
• The Project site Wellness centre cum adventure sports centre is
proposed in Kohla on the banks of the Beas river (60 m from river)
• The proposed facility will be developed on open and vacant government
land measuring 40094 sq.m (9.9 acers) spread over two survey
(khasra) numbers 8 and 9 in village and revenue circle Kohla in sub-
division Nadaun of District Hamirpur.

NEED/VALIDITY:
Nagrota Bagwan being a halt for tourists traveling between McLeodganj and Palampur, makes it an important junction in the Kangra
district of Himachal Pradesh.
As a significant transit point, it would indeed be beneficial to upgrade the infrastructure and amenities in Nagrota Bagwan to cater
to the needs of the tourists.
It will serve as a popular venue that caters to various events, such as matches, flag hosting ceremonies, and rallies.
It will serve as a versatile location for different activities and gatherings.

It will play a significant role in hosting sports events, patriotic celebrations, and public demonstrations, making it an important

NH-154 is located about 0.5 km in south direction of project site.
Buner Khad is flowing near site less than 50m distance in south direction of project site.
Nearly protected forest Khas Rajiana (fairly dense pine) exist about 390m in WNW direction of site.

PROPOSED PROJECT:
The proposed project Development of Convention Centre at dharamshala is proposed under Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism
Development Project in Himachal Pradesh.

AIM:
A convention center is a large building that is designed to hold a convention, where individuals and groups gather to promote and
share common interestand creating a small tourist center.

NEED/VALIDITY:
• Dharamshala is known for its scenic beauty, cultural significance, and spiritual heritage.
• Dharamshala also has some world famous tea gardens, bird watching spots, international film festival held annually in Mc
Leodganj, International cricket stadium and trekking spots.
• It is also a popular destination for Indian and foreign students.
• As a result, demand for a Convention Center was always there but emphasis was not given to provide for the same.
Recently, Dharamshala was announced as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under ‘Smart Cities
Mission’.
• Hence the demand for a Convention Centre has increased manifold and the project will augment the Government’s initiative.
• Dharamshala, being one of the focal cities in the world for Buddhism, also feels the need of a proper Buddhist inspired landscape
that would be very unique to the region.
• Dharamshala has its own uniqueness in Himachal Pradesh as one can experience different hues of culture, customs & traditions
in all corners of the district.
• Several arts and crafts are popular in this district.
• Small souvenir shops run by the locals, selling their local craft would provide them a chance for economic growth and also give
an international face to their skills.

• The project site is at a distance of 1 Km from the Vidhan Sabha and Chinmaya Tapovan, which are prominent locations in Dharamshala town.

• It is located at a distance of 239 km from Chandigarh, 252 km from Manali, 322 km from Shimla and 514 km from New Delhi.
