                               INTRODUCTION
Foodmandu, established in November 2010 by Manohar Adhikari, is Nepal's first online food
delivery service, created to address the lack of reliable food delivery options in Kathmandu. The
idea stemmed from Adhikari's experiences as a busy software developer who struggled to find
time for meals. Initially, Foodmandu faced challenges, starting with just 10 restaurant partners
and a team of four, processing an average of five orders per day. However, as internet access and
smartphone usage grew, the service gained popularity.
Over the years, Foodmandu expanded to cities like Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and
Pokhara, now collaborating with over 800 restaurants and processing thousands of orders daily.
The company has diversified its offerings with services like Foodmandu Fresh (grocery delivery)
and Foodmandu Bar (beverage delivery). Foodmandu's success has significantly influenced
Nepal's e-commerce and restaurant sectors by setting high standards for convenience and
reliability, inspiring other startups and shifting consumer behavior toward online ordering.
Today, it continues to lead the market with a commitment to innovation and service quality
enhancement.
