ROMAN NUMERALS are a way of
Numerals
writing numbers that originated in
Ancient Rome. They use
combinations of seven letters
from the Latin alphabet to
represent these numbers.
Rules for writing Roman
• Numerals of the same value are added.
Numerals
• If the smaller value is there on the right,
then we add it to the greater value.
• If the smaller value is on the left, then
we subtract from the greater value.
• I, X, C & M can be repeated a maximum
of 3 times, whereas V, L & D cannot be
repeated.
