Job Description
As a Senior Embedded Engineer at Grid OS, you will take a leadership role in designing and optimizing the firmware for innovative IoT products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and drive firmware development from conception to production, ensuring the seamless functionality and reliability of hardware systems for cutting-edge solutions. Responsibilities: - Lead the design and development of firmware for embedded devices, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines - Oversee modification, debugging, and documentation of existing firmware, adhering to change control processes - Perform advanced testing and validation of firmware modules for performance, scalability, and stability - Research and prototype new technologies to drive innovation and improve product efficiency - Collaborate with hardware, electrical engineering, and product management teams to implement robust solutions - Act as the technical liaison with customers, advising on customized systems - Lead code and algorithms optimization to enhance product/system performance - Drive evaluation and selection of SoCs and chipsets for compatibility with project goals - Stay updated on IoT standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies for future product requirements - Champion best practices in embedded software development, including Agile and V-model methodologies - Provide progress updates and technical reports to stakeholders for clear communication Requirements: - Educational Background: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields - Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development, with expertise in ARM Cortex, Atmega, PIC, PowerPC, iMX6, etc. - Proficiency in embedded systems design with real-time operating systems (RTOS) - Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting network stacks - Proficiency in embedded Linux development across user space, drivers, and kernel levels - Experience with hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, GPIO, I2C, JTAG, and USB, as well as RF, Audio, BMS, and Modbus subsystems - Familiarity with cellular and IoT standards and SoCs like Quectel and Espressif - Competence in reverse engineering and analyzing third-party code - Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster a collaborative development environment - Strong communication skills to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders - Problem-Solving: Proven ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver innovative firmware solutions - Continuous Learning: Strong curiosity and eagerness to adapt to new product requirements and emerging technologies This role is ideal for a seasoned firmware expert with a passion for IoT innovation, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
