Your responsibilities will include: - Developing a deep understanding of each business partner's sourcing, collections, credit underwriting parameters, policies, and practices. - Managing risk for the retail and wholesale portfolio. - Managing organization-level credit underwriting/risk policies and procedures, including underwriting standards, risk appetite frameworks, and collaboration with machine learning credit scoring models and collections processes. - Working with the risk team to develop robust risk assessment tools, the compliance team to ensure high standards of compliance, and the business team to drive high-quality origination. - Ensuring effective and continuous portfolio monitoring, review of underwriting standards, stress testing, expected credit loss forecasting, and managing potential default risks. - Working with cross-functional teams to deliver credit faster without compromising on credit quality. - Monitoring the partner-wise portfolio on a periodic basis for delinquency monitoring, PDD monitoring, portfolio quality, and implementing triggers for stoppage of business as applicable. - Ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting guidelines issued by RBI and other authorities. - Leveraging data analytics, AI, and machine learning tools to enhance data insights for credit underwriting and risk control. - Developing new capabilities based on partner-level and end borrower-level risk management needs. - Preparing and presenting regular risk reports to senior management and the board. - Leading and mentoring a high-performing risk management team. Qualifications required for this role include: - Graduate/Postgraduate/Professional qualification (e.g., MBA, CA, FRM) highly desirable. - Minimum 7-10 years of work experience in the financial services sector. - Experience in credit and underwriting in Financial Institutions group. - Good understanding of informal sector enterprises and credit underwriting of data thin customers. - Good understanding of RBI Guidelines related to lending, credit, compliance, third party outsourcing, NBFC's related guidelines, PSL. - Prior experience in underwriting retail loans of several asset classes. - Knowledge of Business Correspondent/Co-lending business will be good to have. - Basic understanding of financial reports of financial institutions.
