The candidate will be responsible for DVP execution, failure analysis, and development of components such as the crankcase, cylinder head, FEAD, valve train, and intake systems. The role involves design, analysis, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust and reliable mechanical solutions. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Development Lead the mechanical development of engine components including crankcase, cylinder head, FEAD (Front-End Accessory Drive), valve train, and intake systems. Create and review 3D models and 2D engineering drawings with high accuracy and adherence to GD&T standards. Ensure manufacturability, durability, and performance through robust design practices. DVP (Design Validation Plan) Execution Create, manage, and execute Design Verification Plans for engine components and systems. Coordinate testing activities with validation, CAE, and testing teams. Track test progress, ensure timely completion, and maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Failure Analysis & Problem Solving Conduct detailed root cause analysis of failures arising from validation, field issues, or production concerns. Utilize tools such as 5-Why, Ishikawa, DFMEA, and fault tree analysis to identify and resolve issues. Provide corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance component reliability. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with design, simulation, validation, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure seamless product development. Support prototype build activities and participate in design reviews. Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders. Documentation & Compliance Maintain detailed records of design iterations, testing results, engineering changes, and DVP reports. Ensure adherence to regulatory, quality, and safety standards throughout the development process. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience in engine component development, specifically crankcase, cylinder head, FEAD, valve train, and intake. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation (Creo/SolidWorks/Siemens NX or similar). Hands-on experience with DVP execution, test planning, and validation processes. Strong analytical skills with expertise in failure investigation and root cause analysis. Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engine architecture. B. Tech is required.
