Role Overview: As a Heavy Fabrication Fitter, your primary responsibility will be interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fitting requirements. You will assemble and fit metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure a proper fit. Additionally, you will mark, measure, and cut materials accurately before assembly, assist in welding preparation, and inspect assembled components for defects or misalignment. Key Responsibilities: - Have knowledge about basic EHS guidelines, environmental aspects, and risks related to inspection activities on machines and during assembly. - Assemble and fit metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure a proper fit. - Mark, measure, and cut materials accurately before assembly. - Utilize hand tools, power tools, gas cutting, grinders, drills, and fitting equipment. - Inspect assembled components for defects or misalignment and make necessary adjustments. - Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to meet project deadlines. - Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. - Operate grinding machines to prepare chamfering of parts. - Follow lean approaches like 5s, TPM, Kaizen, etc., and maintain a safe and clean workplace. - Approach daily work with continuous improvement in mind, aiming to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs. - Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work area.
