Job Description
As a Patch Management Lead, your primary role is to oversee the patch management process to ensure the security, stability, and performance of customer environments. This involves developing and implementing a comprehensive patch management strategy aligned with customer IT goals and security requirements. You will establish policies, procedures, and guidelines for patch management activities while adhering to existing standards, policies, processes, procedures, governance, compliance, and security standards. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate patches to determine criticality, impact on customer systems, and compatibility with existing infrastructure & applications. Stay updated on the latest software vulnerabilities and patches released by vendors. - Coordinate with customer IT teams to conduct thorough testing of patches in controlled environments. Ensure functionality, compatibility, and potential conflicts are tested. - Plan and coordinate the deployment of patches across customer assets & applications. Create deployment schedules, monitor progress, and address any issues. - Collaborate with information security and IT security teams to identify vulnerabilities in customer systems and prioritize patches based on risk assessments. - Review reports on patch management activities, compliance status, and key performance indicators for management review. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate patch schedules, and address concerns. - Oversee patch deployments, monitor progress, and address any issues to ensure minimal disruptions to end-users or services performance and availability. - Create test plans for OS and application patching/upgrades. Develop detailed test cases covering all functionalities, deployment, performance, and system stability. - Document test results and update knowledge bases. - Participate in recommending improvements to policies, processes, and procedures and manage their implementation. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and patch management on Windows and Mac machines. - Experience with ITSM/ITIL methodologies. - Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. - Strong facilitation and executive communication skills (written & verbal) required. - Hands-on experience with Windows and Mac operating systems and technologies. - Understanding of technologies supporting the services offered. - Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and methodologies to improve service-supporting technology.,
