Motivation is the driving force that compels individuals to take action. There are different types of motivation, including positive motivation, negative motivation, extrinsic motivation, and intrinsic motivation. The motivation process involves previous learning, unfulfilled needs and wants that create tension and drive behavior, cognitive processes that lead to goals to reduce the tension, and fulfilling those goals or needs. Self-motivation also plays a role in the motivation process.
