This document discusses training programs for pilots and their application to remotely piloted aircraft vehicles (RPAV). It advocates for customized, competency-based training programs based on an instructional systems design (ISD) process. The Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) program and evidence-based training (EBT) are presented as examples that focus on building resilience through scenario-based training and assessment of pilot competencies. The document argues these approaches can effectively train RPAV pilots by emphasizing the right attitudes and aptitudes, continuous assessment, and threat and error management.
