Secant Pile Retaining Walls

The method consists of drilling and concreting a series of primary or un-reinforced piles and secondary or reinforced piles at centre to centre, usually equal to twice the nominal pile diameter less a distance which varies from 100 to 150 mm. Secant piles are intended for both, as temporary retaining or permanent load bearing structures for deep excavation, and can also be used as cut-off wall.
