Brussels lace

A Brussels point de gaze lace collar/dress front. Beautifully shaped to fit the princess line fitted bodice of the mid 1870s, with small ruffle to high neck. Design of trailing flowers and strap work, with single rose to back neck. Neck measures 41cms (16ins), back neck to edge 17cms (6.75ins), centre front 37cms (14.5ins). Creamy mid-ivory colour, a couple of tiny pin holes and repairs otherwise excellent condition.

Veil, Benediction - Flemish - 1745-60

This is a fine Brussels Point de Gaze lace handkerchief with 12 double petal roses dotted around the border. MOS monogram hand embroidered in one corner. Washed white, otherwise good condition. From a Scottish estate family collection.

Handkerchief of Brussels Rose Point de Gaze lace dating from around 1870-90. Rococco style design with double rose petals. Fine cotton lawn centre has one small pale brown mark, apart from this excellent condition.

BRUSSELS, CIRCA 1860

A fantastic gorgeous Civil War era - to later Victorian white Chantilly lace shawl. The shawl is in an all over flora in large flowers and fern pattern punctuated with smaller sprays of flowers. A pleasing design showing off the scallop border on the triangle shape of the edge. . Length of the shawl from center back, to the point is 54" long. 112" at the longest side of the triangle. 80" along each of the other sides. Vintage 1940s lace gown

This is a beautiful and delicate square Brussels applique lace veil with hand made droschel ground. Dates from around 1820. The ground is made up of 2cm strips of hand made droschel net. Unusual to find such a large example, this process was labour intensive and hugely expensive. Large pieces such as this were rarely seen after 1830, when machine made nets became available. In general good condition with just a few small holes and repairs and some pale age browning in places.
