I love the book, Dog's Colorful Day by Emma Dodd. It's got everything: colors, counting, and a cute dog named Spot who gets very messy throughout his busy day. It's the perfect story to do as a flannel! I found the template from Making Learning Fun. I used that as a pattern to cut my felt pieces. If you're on a tight schedule, you could also just cut out the pieces, laminate them, and attach velcro to the back of the pieces. This is a fairly easy flannel story to make, and I've gotten a lot…

Our TTh class had fun with Emma Dodd's book Dog's Colorful Day. Colors and counting made for one colorful dog! Dog did not start out colorful. How did Dog get so colorful? Ask your child! My Kindergartners are currently learning color words. We read "Dog's Colorful Day". My kids loved the book, so I created this activity to go along with the story. The kids must read the spots and then color them accordingly. After coloring, they will cut and paste the spots onto the dog. I can't wait to see how they turn out!
