This edible berry has been in home apothecaries for thousands of years. The are high in vitamins C and A, they are rich in anti-oxidants, and have antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Often referred to as “the people’s medicine chest”, elderberries are most widely used to support the immune system through colds and flu, reducing symptoms significantly. An important thing to note is that elderberries should be cooked before consuming, as they are mildly toxic in their raw form. They are also quite bitter, so you likely wouldn’t enjoy them raw either way. This is a freeze dried elderberry syrup powder, made with elderberries, Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, cloves, marshmallow root, wild cherry bark, and lemon zest.  The entire amount of power reconstitutes to 1.5 cups (12oz). Mix as needed, and add raw honey or maple syrup to your taste!  It will come packaged in a sealed mylar bag with a silica desiccant packet.
