Chile is reopening Easter Island after two years of closure in August 2022 after locals stopped tourists arriving in March 2020.

The moai at Easter Island are actually whole-body statues, but they are commonly referred to as "Easter Island heads." Some of the "heads" at Rano Raraku have been excavated and their bodies seen and observed to have markings that had been protected from erosion by their burial.
