The Maltese Cross Tiara. Made for Q Alexandra of UK in 1910. When she died, it was passed to daughter, Q Maud. She had the diamond circlet made as a lighter version of the George IV State diadem, and takes it name from the crosses atop its bandeau base. 4 detachable diamond Maltese crosses between 4 Fleur-de-lis (removed by Maud) set on pattée diamond bandeau. Its was able to hold the Cullinan VI. Now mostly worn by Q Sonja who wears wears just bandeau w/o crosses, w/ 4th as brooch.
