After turning this idea over for years, I finally decided to pull the trigger and apply a henna gloss on my deep brown hair. https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37057&d=1558915157 I loosely followed this video by Duchess Gabrielle. She is incredibly knowledgeable on herbal haircare, and is a trusted source for me. I used: 50 grams Karishma Herbal Henna Hot coffee (as needed to create a paste with the henna)
Some key tips on dyeing curly hair that I'd like to share with you: -to maintain curls add amla powder to your recipe. At least 10% amla powder to the amount of total powder you're using for best results. You can also do an amla treatment with conditioner afterwards to maintain and restore curls. -add aloe vera powder to your henna if your hair is dry. It's a game changer! -only do henna every 4-6 weeks or as a conditioning mask (with moisturizing ingredients added in) every 2-3 weeks.
