The tax-payer funded BBC claimed that new rules allowing women to wear a hijab during basketball matches represent "a big step forward in women's sport".

Because of a rule banning head coverings on the basketball court, Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir had to choose between the sport she loved and her faith. She chose her religion but fought to change the rule.
