Let’s talk about the perfect beginner stitch combo: single crochet and slip stitch! Once you get the hang of it, you can use it in many ways.

Start with any even number of chains.

Row 1: 1 sc in the second chain from the hook, 1 slip stitch in the next stitch, *1 sc, 1 sl st *. Repeat * to the end of the chain. Ch 1 and turn your work.

Row 2: *1 sc, 1 sl st*. Repeat * to the end of the row. Remember to work the single crochet into the slip stitch of the previous row and vice versa. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Keep repeating row 2.
