This one-of-a-kind moss embroidery is worked in silk & cotton threads, with some touches of velvet, Lutradur and silk fabric for added texture. The tiny seedlings are made from silk that I have dyed, stiffened, cut and sewn onto the backing. It is worked on a dark brown cotton velvet background. I haven't used any dried moss - it's all just fabric and thread, plus some tiny clay cups on the yellow lichen on the bottom right, which I made and painted to match the lichen. Parts of the work…
