What the HR round tests, and how to use these guides
In most Indian tech loops the HR or managerial round comes last, after the technical rounds have already decided whether you can do the job. It tests something different: whether your story holds together. The interviewer has your resume open and is checking that what you say about yourself, your reasons for moving and your expectations match what is written there and what the earlier panels heard.
The questions repeat from company to company, which is why a guide per question works. Each page above gives the question, what the interviewer is listening for, a structure you can hold in your head, and worked answers for a fresher, an experienced hire and a career switcher, so you adapt the one closest to you rather than reciting a script. The mistakes that end the round are the same across pages: an answer that contradicts the resume, a salary figure with no reasoning behind it, and a reason for leaving that blames the last employer.
Read the pages in the order they are listed, write your own version of each answer in three or four lines, then say them aloud in the AI mock interview, which asks the follow-up questions a real panel would.
