Strange Insects
A unusual insect configuration appeared over night, outside on a window frame. It measures about one inch from end to end. It stayed this way for about one week.
I inspected it every day and today I saw hollow shells of molted bodies underneath the clutch. Their vibrant colors and patterns were revealed. They also began to move away from the egg like blobs.
During the past week I wondered if these were a type of exotic tropical tick, but I determined they are not ticks.
I have no idea what they are or how they may look in the future after more molting. Once they were ready to go, they moved quite rapidly with their antennas flickering about. John watched an unfortunate one get grabbed by a spider waiting in a dark corner. I wish the other twelve all the best.
