Feu! Chatterton

Named in homage to poet Thomas Chatterton, Feu! Chatterton is a Paris-based French pop/rock band that combines literary-inspired lyrics with atmospheric rock and chanson. The group's quirky sound draws on a rich tapestry of influences, from French songwriters like Alain Bashung and Serge Gainsbourg to bands like Radiohead and Arcade Fire, all of which can be heard on acclaimed releases such as Palais d’argile (2021) and Labyrinthe (2025). Founded in 2011 by Arthur Teboul (vocals), Clément Doumic (guitar), Sébastien Wolf (keyboards), Antoine Wilson (bass), and Raphaël de Pressigny (drums), Feu! Chatterton debuted their sophisticated, literate sound in 2012 with the single "La Mort dans la pinède," which quickly became a viral hit. By 2014, they had released their self-titled debut EP, followed by "Bic Medium" in 2015, a sprawling, crowd-funded 15-minute composition. Capitalizing on the positive buzz, the group issued its debut full-length, Ici le Jour (A Tout Enseveli), in 2015, which earned critical acclaim and gold certification. Feu! Chatterton's star continued to rise with the release of 2018's L’Oiseleur, which earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique awards. In 2021, Feu! Chatterton unveiled Palais d’argile, a platinum-certified album that propelled them beyond the French music scene, embracing a bold, electronic-infused sound and exploring themes of technology, modernity, and human connection. The band continued to experiment on 2025's Labyrinthe, weaving elements of progressive rock and electronica into their increasingly complex sonic oeuvre.
