Disco Fries
New York-based electronic production duo Disco Fries are known for their musically eclectic house tracks and remixes. They initially garnered attention in 2013, pairing with Tiësto for the song "iTrance." Owners of their own Liftoff Recordings, they have released a bevy of singles, along 2015's Autonomous EP and 2017's DF EP.Formed in 2009, Disco Fries (a poutine-like, cheese-and-gravy French fry dish) initially came together several years earlier while the Virginia-born Danny Boselovic and New Jersey-born Nick Ditri were roommates during their first year of study at Berklee College of Music in Boston. They began collaborating on music, bringing together their broad mix of influences ranging from Ditri's love of hip-hop and dance music to Boselovic's love of bands like Radiohead, Air, and Kraftwerk. After college, they relocated to New York City, where they began posting tracks online and garnering buzz for their remixes of songs by Flo Rida, Cobra Starship, Avicii, Neon Hitch, and others. Originals followed, including tracks like "Killer" with Clinton Sparks, "Bad Boy" with Tommie Sunshine and Loopers, and "Open Your Eyes (Revelation)." By 2013, they had caught the attention of Tiësto, who invited them to collaborate on a project. Together they released the song "iTrance," which proved a hit, racking up over 50,000 streams. Also in 2013, Disco Fries launched their own Liftoff Recordings and were named one of Vibe magazine's "30 DJs to Watch." The following year, they contributed two tracks to Tiësto's A Town Called Paradise -- "Wasted" featuring Matthew Koma and "Shimmer" featuring Christian Burns -- both of which went gold. In 2015, the duo released their debut EP, Autonomous, which featured the song "Head in the Clouds" with 311's Nick Hexum. Also included on the album were tracks featuring Breathe Carolina, Our Lady Peace singer Raine Maida, and Hope Murphy. A second EP, DF, arrived in 2017 and included tracks with Jared Lee, Great Good Fine OK, Daisy Guttridge, and others. That year, Disco Fries also released a remix of Selena Gomez's track "Fetish." "U Make Me (Zack Martino & Disco Fries Remix)" arrived in 2018. The following year, the pair topped Billboard's Dance Music Charts with "Concrete Heart," a collaboration with Vassy. They also toured in 2019 alongside Tritonal and released the song "Family Affair." More tracks followed in 2020, including "Anybody" and "Believer" with Giiants.
