Fiona

Fiona Eileen Flanagan, known mononymously as Fiona, was born on September 13, 1961, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Raised in a Catholic family with Irish roots, she developed an early affinity for traditional Irish music and learned to play the clarinet. Fiona's debut single "Talk to Me" was released on her self-titled album Fiona (1985), which also included the track "Love makes you blind" from the soundtrack of the film No Small Affair. She embarked on her first major American tour, opening for Bryan Adams. Her second album, Beyond The Pale (1986), introduced new sonic elements and featured notable tracks such as "Hopelessly Love You" and "Living In A Boy's World". Fiona also contributed to the soundtracks of films like Quicksilver and Johnny B. Good. Her third album, Heart Like a Gun (1989), included the duet "Everything you Do (You're Sexing Me)" with Kip Winger. She appeared in several television shows and films, notably Miami Vice and Hearts of Fire, where she starred alongside Bob Dylan. Fiona's final album under Geffen Records was Squeeze (1992), which featured collaborations with Laura McDonald and Jimmy Degrasso. After marrying her producer Beau Hill in 1986, Fiona announced the end of her musical career in 1993 to focus on family and education. She returned to performing in 2003 and released Unbroken (2011).
