Luedji Luna

Luedji Gomes Santa Rita, known professionally as Luedji Luna, was born on May 25, 1987, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. She is a singer-songwriter who studied law at the Federal University of Bahia and singing at the Escola Baiana de Canto Popular. She began performing in 2011 and released her debut single "Dentro ali" in 2014. Her first album Um Corpo no Mundo was released in 2017, earning her a Bravo Award and a nomination for best new artist at the 2018 Multishow Brazilian Music Award. In 2020, Luedji Luna's second album Bom Mesmo é Estar Debaixo D'Água was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) Album. A deluxe edition, Bom Mesmo É Estar Debaixo D’Água Deluxe, followed in 2022 with expanded arrangements and new recordings, while a series of collaborations and singles in 2022–2024, including “Acalanto” with Tuyo, tracks with Yuksek and Hodari, and solo releases like “Yara” and “Toda Cor,” reinforced her profile in contemporary MPB and jazz-inflected neo-soul. In 2025 Luedji Luna released two new studio albums, Um Mar Pra Cada Um in late May and Antes Que A Terra Acabe in mid-June, deepening her exploration of Afro-diasporic rhythms, jazz and Brazilian songwriting; Um Mar Pra Cada Um went on to win the Latin Grammy Award for Best MPB Album, confirming her as one of the central voices of her generation.
