World's End Press
Based in Melbourne, Australia, indie dance group World's End Press formed in 2010 around the talents of longtime friends John Parkinson (vocals) and Rhys Richards (keyboards). With the addition of drummer Tom Gould and bassist Sashi Dharann, the band drew on a wide mix of influences including Krautrock, disco, punk, space rock, and Jamaican lovers rock to create its effervescent grooves. After signing with the Liberation Music label, World's End Press worked with producer Tim Goldsworthy (Massive Attack, the Rapture, Cut Copy) at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales to record their self-titled debut, which arrived in 2013. The band toured heavily, sharing the stage with acts like Hot Chip, Primal Scream, and Bloc Party and establishing itself in the Australian festival circuit. With the departure of bassist Dharann, the band slimmed to a trio for the 2015 release of its follow-up EP, Tall Stories.
