ZEROBASEONE

Winners of the 2023 reality show Boys Planet, South Korean boy band Zerobaseone are known for their romantic brand of pop, which balances a contemporary electronic dance sound with a throwback early-'90s R&B vibe. They debuted in 2023 with the EP Youth in the Shade, which was followed by Melting Point and 2024's You had me at HELLO, all of which reached the Top Five on the Circle Albums chart. They again hit the Top Ten in 2025 with both Prezent (their first Japan EP) and Blue Paradise. Their debut full-length, Never Say Never, appeared in 2025, cracking the Top 25 of the Billboard 200. Managed by WakeOne, Zerobaseone was formed in 2023 via the Mnet reality TV competition Boys Planet. The show pitted 98 contestants from various countries against each other as they vied to become members of the final band. During the show's April 20 finale, it was revealed that the nine members of the band were Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin. On the heels of their win, Zerobaseone delivered their first single, "In Bloom," a romantic, synthy anthem that paved the way for the group's debut EP. Released in July 2023, Youth in the Shade featured "In Bloom," along with the equally hooky cuts "Back to Zerobase," "New Kidz on the Block," and "And I." The album peaked at number two in both South Korea and Japan. They quickly followed with the Melting Point EP, a five-song set that featured "CRUSH." Pivoting to the Japanese market in 2024, they issued the single "Yura Yura (Unmei no Hana)" b/w Japanese versions of "In Bloom" and "CRUSH." Later that year, they released their summery third EP, You had me at HELLO, home to "Feel the POP" and "SWEAT." In January 2025, Zerobaseone released their first Japanese EP, Prezent. A month later, they delivered their fifth Korean EP, Blue Paradise, featuring the R&B single "Doctor Doctor." Both albums topped the charts in their respective countries, with the latter cracking the Top 30 of the Billboard 200. That September, they delivered their debut full-length release, Never Say Never, featuring the singles "Slam Dunk" and "Iconik." It topped the South Korean Circle Albums chart and reached number 23 on the Billboard 200.
