Robert DeLong

Los Angeles-based electronic alchemist Robert DeLong mixes dance music with his own singer/songwriter style of pop craftsmanship. Utilizing MIDI interfaces and mixing live while he performs, DeLong plays keyboards, drum pads, drum set, laptops, and even gaming controllers to create his songs. Meanwhile, his lyrics and melodic sense often borrow from more classic pop influences. He debuted on the Billboard dance charts with his first full-length release, 2013's Just Movement, and reached the Top Ten of the Heatseekers chart with 2015's In the Cards. Along with collaborations with artists like K.Flay, Ashe, and Lights, DeLong has continued to evolve the sonic textures and emotional depth of his work, as on 2018's See You in the Future, 2021's Walk Like Me, and 2024's Playlist of Doom. A native of Seattle, DeLong started playing drums at age ten and learning basic computer programming at 11. By high school, he was playing drums in pop-punk bands and experimenting with 3D animation. He started performing his innovative style of electronic music after moving to Los Angeles to study music at Azusa Pacific University. Glassnote released his debut solo album, Just Movement, in 2013. DeLong landed on the dance/electronic charts in the U.S. with both the album and the single "Global Concepts." A year later, he returned to the dance chart with the EP Long Way Down. Its title track reached the Top Three of the Alternative Songs chart. In 2015, DeLong released his sophomore album, In the Cards, which landed at number nine on Billboard's Heatseekers and crossed over to the rock albums chart. He spent much of the following year touring, including stops at Firefly Music Festival and Coachella, where he was joined on-stage by Kamasi Washington. DeLong returned in 2018 with the EP See You in the Future, which included the Top 20 Billboard Alternative Airplay-charting song "Favorite Color Is Blue" featuring K.Flay. In 2020, he paired with Ashe for the track "Better in College," followed by 2021's "Did it To Myself," featuring Lights. Both songs were included on his third album, 2021's Walk Like Me. DeLong returned in 2024 with the full-length Playlist of Doom. Along with guest appearances by Pahua and LYELL, the album featured co-production contributions by Tom Peyton, the Score's Edan Dover, and others.
