Vintage Culture

Going under the moniker of Vintage Culture, Lukas Ruiz Hespanhol is a Brazilian DJ and producer of electronic dance music, with a particular affinity for the progressive house genre. He made a name for himself with EPs like 2014's Everyday's a G-Thing, and began rising up the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll in 2016, reaching the Top Ten less than a decade later. He topped Billboard's club charts with 2019's "In the Dark" (featuring Fancy Inc), and released his full-length debut, Promised Land, in 2024. The sixth volume of his ongoing Vintage Culture & Friends EP series followed later in the year.Lukas Ruiz Hespanhol was born in Mundo Novo, Brazil, in 1993. After teaching himself how to DJ by watching tutorials online, Ruiz started attracting attention in the early 2010s with his remixes of artists such as New Order, Pink Floyd, Cazuza, and Fernanda Abreu. By 2015 he was an established figure in the Brazilian electronic scene, and he soon began to be featured in important festivals, as well as touring internationally and making a splash on the Beatport lists with tracks such as "Drinkee" and "Wild Kidz." His global profile kept on growing after signing with both Spinnin Records and the management agency Spin Agency (the same of superstars like Avicii and Armin van Buuren), which in turn allowed him to perform at festivals such as Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, and Time Warp. Back in Brazil, Ruiz founded his own label (Só Track Boa) and festival (Vintage Is a Festival). His first full-length, Promised Land, arrived in May 2024. After issuing a set of Promised Land Remixes, the producer released Vintage Culture & Friends, Vol. 6.
