Moody Joody

Delivering high-gloss songcraft that stands out among their peers, Moody Joody have been steadily delivering alt-pop earworms since 2020, including “The Heat,” “Velvet Connection,” and “Ground Control.” Comprised of two solo artists who decided to join forces (singer/keyboardist Kayla Hall and singer/guitarist Kaitie Forbes) plus producer/keyboardist Andrew Pacheco, Moody Joody blend indie, classic rock, and Top 40 radio stylings from their home base of Nashville, Tennessee. With a focus on the feminine experience from their earliest songs (“The Heat,” “Must Be Nice,” “Dream Girl”), a Bleachers-esque adoration of sincerity and synths, HAIM-style close vocal harmonies, and a high-energy live show, the trio steadily amassed a buzz in the post-COVID mid-Southern scene. The 2023 single “Velvet Connection” struck a chord with listeners, and the trio received further exposure as an opening act for the indie group MisterWives. (Both groups collaborated on a reissue of MisterWives' 2023 album Nosebleeds, which also featured collabs with PVRIS, Meet Me @ the Altar, Pom Pom Squad, and Betty Who.) Moody Joody's first EP Dream Girl was released in 2024, featuring singles “Velvet Connection,” “Ground Control,” and “Cuts Deep.”
