J. Worra

J. Worra produces swaggering, feelgood tracks incorporating elements from several eras of house music. Her early releases, including 2017's Downtown Diva EP, had more of a stripped-down, bass-heavy tech-house sound. Over time, her music shifted to a more melodic style more heavily influenced by classic Chicago house, with releases like 2021's some ppl fall EP. "Check Out" (with Leo Stannard) was a major streaming success, and she's followed it with tracks such as 2022's "Lightning to Strike" (with Nathan Nicholson) and 2025's "SMYLM."Jamie Sitter originally came from Chicago, and gained exposure to electronic by attending a festival during her youth. She noticed that there were no women on the lineup, and wanted to make a change in the industry. As J. Worra, she started making intricate yet direct bass-house tracks, releasing her debut EP Oh, Hello in 2015, and relocating to Los Angeles. Downtown Diva followed in 2017, and "Ride or Cry," a collaboration with Dances with White Girls and rrotik, appeared on Mau5trap in 2019. Worra released "On the Run" with Kaleena Zanders the same year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Worra began exploring her Chicago house roots more, and her music became more melodic and lyric-driven. Tracks like "Now You Know" and 2021's "Chunk Funk" became some of her most successful to date. By the end of 2021, she collaborated with Little Boots on the song "Wasteland," and issued "Check Out" (with Leo Stannard) on Diplo's Higher Ground label. 2022 brought tracks such as "Lose My Mind" (featuring Taylor Moody), second Little Boots collaboration "Burn This House," and "Lightning to Strike" (with Nathan Nicholson). Two singles on Ultra Records, "All the Girls" (with Shift K3Y) and "Fade," appeared in 2023. Worra also released "Dancing at the Disco" with Cherry Tooth. She collaborated with Disco Lines and Anabel Englund on the 2024 single "Cutting Loose." In 2025, she released "Can't Get Enough" (with Hayley May), "Crushin'" (with Benni Ola), and "SMYLM."
