Çantamarta

Transcending musical and geographical borders, Spanish trio Çantamarta propose a unique fusion of Caribbean, Andalusian, and contemporary urban sounds. The group was created in the late 2010s after a fortuitous encounter between Benito Casado and Omar Roldán, two audio engineering students from Granada and Córdoba, and Colombian-Venezuelan street musician Luis Lozano. The band released their first single, "Fermina," in 2019, and over the next five years proceeded to build up an admirable reputation with their mixture of folk traditions, flamenco, hip-hop, R&B, electronica, and neo soul -- on evidence on their first hit, "Lluvia" (2020), and their debut EP, Amapolas (2021). Such musical versatility also allowed them to collaborate with disparate artists from Spain and Latin America, among these Rusowsky, Veztalone, and Irepelusa, as well as to produce tracks for the likes of Valeria Castro and Alba Reche. Pasarela, Çantamarta's first full-length, was released by Rimas Entertainment in late 2024.
