Jai'Len Josey

Singer, songwriter, and actress Jai'Len Josey is known for her sultry, emotionally candid brand of R&B. Signed to Def Jam subsidiary Hillman Grad Records, she debuted in 2020 with the EP Illustrations, followed by 2023's Southern Delicacy. She returned in 2025 with the effervescent "New Girl" as the initial preview of her first proper album, Serial Romantic.A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Josey began performing at a young age and made her Broadway debut at age 16 in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical. Other work included numerous regional theater credits, starring in the off-Broadway production of The Secret Life of Bees, and voice acting for Nickelodeon and PBS Kids. In 2019, she co-wrote, produced, and performed the song "Rhythm of Olay," featured in Oil of Olay's ALS musical commercial campaign. The following year, Josey released her debut EP, Illustrations. Signed to Sony Music Publishing, she has co-written songs with Ari Lennox, SiR, and others. She is also one of the first artists signed to Lena Waithe's Def Jam imprint Hillman Grad Records. In 2023, Josey released the Southern Delicacy EP, featuring the single "Good Soup," as well as the two-song Conversations from a Payphone, led by the Matt McGhee collaboration "Mixed Signals." From there, Josey worked on her first proper album, and in April 2025 gave listeners a first taste with "New Girl," which she produced with HeroThaProducer, Madness, and Michael Barney.
