Scanch
SCANCH, a Japanese rock band, was formed in 1982 when its members met while still in high school. The original lineup included Rolly on guitar and vocals, shima-chang on bass and vocals, Obata Pump on drums, and Doctor Tanaka on keyboards. SCANCH released their first album オジタスの謎 (The Riddle of Ozitus) in 1985, making their major label debut with CBS/Sony in 1990. Throughout the early 1990s, they released several albums including Ultra Operation of Love Affair For All the Young Boys and Girls (1990), Ultra Romantic Bombers For Unlimited Lovers in the World(1991), and A Case of Rosy Murder For Miracle Lovers Only (1992). In 1993, Doctor Tanaka left the band and was replaced by Ogawa Bunmei on keyboards. The band continued to release albums such as Gold in 1994 and Double Double Chocolate in 1995. SCANCH also contributed songs like "Bomber Love" and "Namida no Sentakukamoku" to the anime K.O. Beast. The band disbanded in 1996, with Doctor Tanaka passing away in 2019. Notable posthumous releases include CD&DVD THE BEST すかんち 軌跡の詩 (2005) and SCANCH'N ROLL SHOW (2007).
