Caleb Hearn
An earnest singer/songwriter who isn't afraid to address sensitive subjects, Caleb Hearn pairs his keening melodies with atmospheric production that heightens the emotions of his songs. "Always Be," his viral breakthrough from 2020, found him paying tribute to departed friends, setting the stage for a series of songs and EPs where he explored childhood memories, family connections, dreams, and with 2024's "Klonopin," mental wellness.Born in Mount Airy, North Carolina, Caleb Hearn was raised in a Christian household. Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift were his gateway to secular music. Hearn received his first guitar at the age of 13. He spent his adolescence writing songs and as he approached his late teens, he decided to take a serious shot at music as a profession. Initially, Hearn pursued rap under the name CMH, teaming up with Parduesk (aka Austin Pardue) in 2016 for a SoundCloud album called Red in My Veins. The party-friendly "Air" gained some attention. The pair got sentimental on "Far Away," a tribute to departed friends that was featured on their 2018 EP Reserves.By 2019, Hearn had started to concentrate on introspective pop music. "Always Be 2.0," a tribute to a late friend, went viral in 2020, with its sequel "Brown Eyes, Brown Hair" sustaining an audience early in 2021, chalking up millions of streams. Moving to Nashville, he signed with Nettwerk, releasing the EP We're Getting Older in 2022. The EP's "Where Do We Go from Here?" maintained his online audience. Early in 2023, he released the EP 12000 SQ Ft, which featured the single "1000 Reasons." At the end of the year, he released the Birthdays & Funerals EP, which found him commemorating lifecycles through collaborations with David Hodges and Dan Swank. In 2024, he released the stark single "Klonopin," which found him unusually emotionally unguarded. Hearn's full-length debut album arrived later in 2024.
