K-Lone

British electronic producer Josiah Gladwell (aka K-Lone) is an enigmatic studio presence known for his experimental, often abstract soundscapes. Since emerging in 2015, K-Lone has showcased his creative approach, combining computers with field recordings, synthesizers, and a bevy of percussion instruments to craft his evocative tracks, as on 2017's In the Dust EP and 2023's full-length, Swells.Hailing from London and based in Brighton, England, Gladwell initially played drums in various punk and noise rock outfits before discovering his interest in creating electronic soundscapes. Adopting his production handle K-Lone, he co-founded the Wisdom Teeth label with fellow London experimentalist Facta, and quickly grabbed attention with a 2015 split EP with Etch. A year later, he paired with L.A. rapper Ill Chill for the Rare Jewels EP on Wych. In 2017, K-Lone delivered yet more spacious dub-techno cuts with the In the Dust EP on the Paris-based Soundman Chronicles, followed in 2020 by The Falls EP. A sophomore full-length, Swells, arrived in 2023 and found K-Lone exploring a mix of styles from deep house to left-field R&B. It featured collaborations with singer Eliza Rose, including on the dub-infused ballad "With U."
